Pawel Mierzwa, VP of Sales Operations
The manufacturing industry has been lagging behind other industries in digital transformation initiatives. But with Industry 4.0 and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), it has been moving in the right direction in recent years. Manufacturers now use these new technologies to streamline their operations, cut costs, and shorten production lead times. Next, they need to find ways to reduce the time, price, and risk associated with putting these technologies in use in their production facilities. “The emergence of the cloud enables them to do just that,” says Pawel Mierzwa, the VP of Sales Operations at Andea, provider of MES/MOM services and solutions.
Andea provides MES/MOM consulting services and delivers cloud-based manufacturing solutions. Andea developed a cloud-based solution—Manufacturo—that was created to enable manufacturers to implement the digital transformation initiatives successfully. Manufacturo uses Microsoft Azure Cloud and is built using the microservices architecture to enable global manufacturing collaboration and rapid implementation of IIoT. “Microsoft is continuously enhancing the capabilities of the Azure cloud to drive digital transformation, and we are taking advantage of that when developing new apps and capabilities on Manufacturo,” adds Mierzwa.
Utilizing Manufacturo, Andea is also working on a few apps that are not only focused on identifying ways to present manufacturing data to manufacturers, but also ensuring that it is made available to them in an insightful way to drive behavioral change. Such initiatives are an outcome of Andea’s know-how of manufacturing along with the expertise that its employees bring to the table. Owing to these capabilities coupled with the company’s cutting-edge solutions and consulting services, Andea has assisted several Fortune 500 and 1000 companies across Europe and the US, earning a reputation for powering manufacturers’ digital transformation efforts.
Driven by its core values comprising focus, experience, and quality, Andea has grown significantly well in a short span
Driven by its core values comprising focus, experience, and quality, Andea has grown significantly well in a short span. According to Mierzwa, it’s the unique combination of being highly focused and experienced in developing manufacturing solutions that allow Andea to deliver value to its clients.
One of the companies that benefited from working with Andea is Autoliv. Autoliv develops, manufactures and markets airbags, seatbelts, steering wheels, and passive safety electronics. A fortune 500 company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, the company is among the largest Tier 1 automotive suppliers in the world. The company has embarked on an initiative to implement a Global Engineering Order (GEO) solution, used for order planning and preparation, warehouse and logistics management, shipment, and delivery of prototype parts. One of the main goals of the project was a consolidation of a large number of point and homegrown systems into a single solution. There was no product available that was designed to deliver everything that the firm needed, and creating the GEO solution required a unique and customized approach. To find an appropriate solution, Autoliv partnered with Andea. The team at Andea helped the client to design and deploy the GEO solution using the DELMIA Apriso MOM platform. That was not a typical MOM implementation and required a lot of 'out-of-the-box' thinking. Initial deployment of GEO took place in June 2019 to around 2500 users spread across three different time zones. The ultimate goal of Autoliv is to have all 80 facilities and 6500+ users located in Europe, USA and Asia connected to one central instance of the GEO solution.
The team at Andea has multiple success stories to its name and is optimistic about the road ahead, with the vision to expand continuously. “We will consistently work on developing and implementing innovative and high-quality solutions for our clients,” concludes Mierzwa.
